Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

Movie review by Cakes is back! He’s the reason why our family started watching Marvel films in the first place. A nightly ritual that saw us through the first 2020 lockdown and by the end of it, even mum started feeling like the Marvel characters were part of the family.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness ushers in a new phase of the MCU. One that’s grittier, arguably scarier (just ask Twitter), and darker. It is a Sam Raimi film, after all. WandaVision lay the groundwork for this and continues the exploration of grief and its stages.

What Cakes had to say

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a great movie. The film exceeded my expectations, with tons of great twists throughout the movie. Just like the first Doctor Strange film, it had amazing visuals and CGI. The amount of cameos featured in the film was underwhelming, however the fact there were cameos at all was entertaining. The way it ties into WandaVision was clever, and all the small references to the show made the scenes with Wanda fun to watch. This film was also a great way to introduce America Chavez, and her backstory. Overall, the movie was amazing and I’d watch it again!
